About the Community Safety Committee
​
The IPCA Community Safety Committee focuses on keeping Island Park Drive a safe, secure, and prepared neighbourhood. Led by the Community Safety Chair, the committee monitors crime trends, coordinates with police and city officials, and supports neighbourhood watch and emergency preparedness efforts. Its goal is to promote a strong sense of safety and readiness through community awareness, collaboration, and advocacy.

Committee Chair Role – Community Safety
The Chair leads initiatives related to personal and public safety, emergency preparedness, and neighbourhood watch programs.
Key Responsibilities:​

Liaise with National Capital Commission, City of Ottawa, RCMP and Ottawa Police Services and City officials

Monitor crime trends and coordinate safety alerts
-
Organize workshops, events, or safety audits'

Provide safety updates to the Board and community

Collaborate with schools and local institutions on safety

Educate residents on home and personal safety
