Community Safety Committee

Committee Chair – The Chair leads initiatives related to personal and public safety, emergency preparedness, and neighbourhood watch programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

​

  • Liaise with National Capital Commission, City of Ottawa, RCMP and Ottawa Police   Services and City officials

  • Monitor crime trends and coordinate safety alerts

  • Organize workshops, events, or safety audits'

  • Provide safety updates to the Board and  community

​

  • Promote and support neighbourhood watch initiatives

  • Collaborate with schools and local institutions on safety

  • Educate residents on home and personal safety

  • Develop emergency response guides or community protocols

 How do I call the police and remain anonymous?

  1. Call CrimeStoppers. (613.233.TIPS / 1.800.222.8477 / Mobile App: “P3 tips Mobile” is available for Androids and iPhones)

  2. When you call the police at 613.236.1222, ask to remain anonymous. You can also ask that the responding officers to not contact you, or to visit you at your home. 

  3. Dial *67 before dialing the number you are calling. Your personal information will not show up on Caller ID.  Note: this does not work when you are calling 911.
