Overnight Traffic Disruptions Expected on Richmond Road at Highway 417

Motorists travelling through the Richmond Road and Highway 417 corridor should prepare for overnight traffic disruptions this week as construction continues on the Stage 2 O-Train project.
Temporary lane reductions and ramp closures will be required to accommodate construction activities, including the removal of concrete barriers and roadway line painting.

Scheduled Traffic Impacts
Tuesday, December 16, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17
Lane reduction on Richmond Road southbound.
Wednesday, December 17, from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18
Richmond Road northbound will be closed.
The on-ramp from northbound Richmond Road to Highway 417 eastbound will also be closed.
The southbound Richmond Road to Highway 417 westbound on-ramp will reopen at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17.
The southbound lane reduction on Richmond Road is expected to be lifted by Thursday, December 18.
Detour Routes
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signage. Recommended routes include:
Accessing Highway 417 eastbound from northbound Richmond Road
Continue northwest on Holly Acres Road to Carling Avenue.
Turn right onto Carling Avenue and proceed east to Pinecrest Road.
Turn right onto Pinecrest Road, travel south, and access the eastbound Highway 417 on-ramp.
Accessing Highway 417 eastbound from southbound Holly Acres Road or Richmond Road
Travel south to Baseline Road.
Turn left and continue east on Baseline Road to Greenbank Road.
Turn left and travel north to access the Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp.
Accessing Highway 417 westbound from southbound Bayshore Drive or Richmond Road
Travel south on Richmond Road to Holly Acres Road.
Turn right onto Holly Acres Road and continue northwest to the westbound Highway 417 on-ramp.
OC Transpo Service Adjustments
Between 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, and 5:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, OC Transpo Routes 61, 62, and 63 travelling toward Tunney’s Pasture will be detoured between Woodridge Avenue and Richmond Road. Access to Bayshore Station will be maintained.
