The Island Park Community Association is pleased to announce that Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe will be our special guest at this year’s Annual General Meeting.
Community members are welcome to join us on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Kitchissippi United Church, 630 Island Park Drive, for the IPCA Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is an important opportunity for residents to come together, hear updates on the work of the Association, discuss issues affecting our neighbourhood, and help shape priorities for the year ahead. Members will hear updates on community initiatives, including development, safety, heritage, and the Canada Day Flag Campaign. Members will also elect the Board of Directors and discuss priorities for the year ahead.
We are honoured that Mayor Sutcliffe will join us to speak with residents and hear directly from the Island Park community. His participation will provide residents with a valuable opportunity to hear about city priorities and to raise local concerns, including neighbourhood preservation, traffic and safety, infrastructure, development pressures, public spaces, and quality of life in our community.
Following the AGM, all attendees are invited to a Wine and Cheese Reception at 8:00 p.m., where we will recognize this year’s award recipients.
The Community Volunteer Award will be presented to Joan and Roland Dorsay in recognition of their decades of service to the Island Park community, including leadership within the community association, advocacy for traffic safety, and extensive volunteer work across Ottawa.
The Past President’s Award will be presented to Jennifer Gillespie for her outstanding contributions to heritage preservation and her leadership in advancing the Island Park Heritage Conservation District initiative.
Island Park Drive is one of Ottawa’s most historic and distinctive neighbourhoods, known for its beautiful streetscape, strong community spirit, and long tradition of civic engagement. As our city continues to grow and change, it is more important than ever that residents have opportunities to engage directly with municipal leaders on the issues that matter to them.
All residents are encouraged to attend. The AGM is also an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Island Park Community Association, meet neighbours, and consider how you can get involved.
We look forward to welcoming Mayor Sutcliffe and to seeing many members of the Island Park community at this important annual meeting.
