Holiday Greetings from the IPCA Board

Dear Members of the Island Park Community Association,

As the year draws to a close, the Board of Directors of the Island Park Community Association would like to extend our warmest holiday wishes to you and your families.

This past year has been a busy and demanding one for our community. Together, we have navigated a wide range of issues that matter deeply to Island Park residents and to the future of our neighbourhood. The Board has spent considerable time engaging with the proposed zoning bylaw changes, advocating for community interests related to the Matthew Perry House project, addressing safety concerns, and working with the City on traffic management and mobility issues that affect our daily lives. We have also been actively involved in discussions around heritage designations, ensuring that the character and history of Island Park Drive is respected while also ensuring the area continues to evolve.

None of this work happens in isolation. The strength of Island Park lies in its residents, and we are continually impressed by the level of community participation, thoughtful feedback, and constructive dialogue we receive. Whether you attended meetings, wrote letters, shared expertise, volunteered your time, or simply stayed informed and engaged, your contributions have helped shape the Board’s work and strengthened our collective voice.

Community advocacy can be complex and, at times, challenging—but it is also deeply rewarding. This year reminded us how important it is to listen to one another, to stand up for our shared values, and to work collaboratively to protect what makes Island Park Drive a special place to live.

On behalf of the Board, thank you for your commitment to our neighbourhood, your patience as issues unfolded, and your willingness to participate in shaping Island Park’s future. We look forward to continuing this work with you in the year ahead.

We wish you a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with health, happiness, and peace.

Warm regards,

The Board of Directors Island Park Community Association
