The Island Park Community association recently launched Phase One of a Neighbourhood Watch Program, with the goal of strengthening cooperation among residents and supporting Ottawa Police Service, the RCMP, and the Neighbourhood Watch Program Coordinator. Registration forms will soon be distributed to households, and participation will help ensure Island Park Drive becomes a safer, more connected community where watchful eyes protect everyone.

In the coming weeks, Island Park residents will receive a membership registration form in their mailboxes.

Community safety depends on neighbours looking out for one another, and the recent break-in and robbery on Island Park Drive shows just how important that vigilance can be. Thanks to residents spreading the word and checking their security cameras, an image of the suspect was captured and shared with authorities.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact Constable Williams at the Ottawa City Police or Karen at gottarun.ca@gmail.com
